May 7 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Les Sanderson will be our Guest Speaker on May 7. Les will be talking about The Little River Story. Les has been the long-time Little River Historical Society president. He grew up in the area and his knowledge of its history and people is prodigious.
In an article in the Star Weekly some years ago he spoke wistfully about old Little River and some of the things he misses: Bulls General Store, Monty’s Motors, school concerts in the hall, the railway station being manned 24 hours and gangers checking the line, collecting milk for school from the railway station in a wheelbarrow; the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works workers bus and Jack McLean’s school bus taking students to school in Geelong.
We should all book a seat for this month’s talk!
